Does OTEC offer online learning?

Yes! Service Excellence Dynamics is an engaging one hour eLearning course that has been designed to help individuals acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for creating memorable service experiences. This online course is available 24/7. Click here to register!

What are the costs for OTEC training packages and how do I purchase them for my organization?

OTEC does not list prices for our products or services because we tailor them to your specific needs. Contact OTEC’s Team Members for program information and we’ll help you design a program that fits your budget and achieves your goals.

Are OTEC’s training products available in French?

Yes! OTEC’s Bilingual Trainers facilitate training in French for organizations located throughout Ontario. Many emerit training programs are also available in French. Call us today to arrange for a French language OTEC training program to be facilitated within your organization:

What is emerit certification and who recognizes it?

Many emerit training products have a Professional Certification option so you can receive recognition for your tourism skills and experience. The Professional Certifications are based on National Occupational Standards that are developed and regularly updated by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC). They are recognized both within Canada and abroad. OTEC partners with the CTHRC to administer and deliver the emerit range of training products and Professional Certifications to organizations, educational institutions and individuals across Ontario.

How can I get more information regarding emerit Professional Certifications and the costs involved?

The costs for emerit Professional Certifications vary based on the level (front line, specialist or managerial) and components of the chosen program. For more information regarding certification, please speak with our Workforce Development Project Manager, Kim Marshall. She will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

For Schools:

Are any OTEC programs available for delivery in high schools?

Yes! OTEC’s Service Excellence Series of workshops are available for delivery in High Schools. Once teachers are trained by OTEC to deliver Service Excellence, they are also qualified to deliver any program from our Service Excellence Series including: Service Excellence for Diverse Cultures; Accessible Service Excellence; Team Excellence; and Service Excellence for Health and Wellness.

Note: Licensing Agreements must be active for the schools at which these programs are taught.

Take Hwy 401 – West

How can I get to the OTEC Learning Centre by public transit?

The best way to get to the OTEC Training Centre by public transit is by taking the TTC subway and bus.

Via the TTC:

Take the Westbound subway to Kipling station (the last stop)
Take bus number 111 from Kipling station
Get off at corner of The East Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road
You will see: Etobicoke Medical Centre diagonally across the road and a building behind it with a blue “SYSCO” sign (this is Building 21, where OTEC is located!)
Cross the road, and walk towards the building
We are in Building 21 on the 3rd Floor!

Are there Accommodations close to the OTEC office in Toronto?

Yes The Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport. Most of our participants from outside of the Greater Toronto Area stay here and receive a special OTEC rate! The Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport is located at:

What are the hours of operation for your Head Office?

The OTEC Head Office in Toronto is open Monday through to Friday from 9am to 5pm. We will be closed on the following statutory holidays:
