![]() Workforce Skills Development Ready To Work
Ready-to-Work is a nationally recognized program that has helped thousands of unemployed individuals prepare for careers in Tourism and Hospitality over the past 12 years. Through an exciting mix of classroom and on-the-job training, participants build the knowledge, skills and attitude to pursue rewarding careers in this exciting sector. OTEC has delivered Ready-to-Work for youth and other target groups throughout the Province. The most recent project, Ready-to-Work: Tourism Careers for Internationally Trained Individuals (ITI’s) was specifically designed to serve new immigrants. Over the past two years, the project helped over 180 ITI’s successfully transition into the Ontario workforce. The program was free for permanent residents or convention refugees with a work permit. This project also assisted employers seeking to expand their workforce with qualified applicants. Ready-to-Work ITI’s is a partnership with four organizations that have significant experience with immigrant communities across Ontario. They include:
