Welcome to the Employer of Choice program – the only program of its kind available to tourism employers across Canada – and it’s absolutely FREE!  

The Employer of Choice program was designed by human resource experts to enable tourism employers to determine the success of their human resource practices in relation to the needs of their employees. In an Employer of Choice organization, employees’ actions are aligned with business goals – they feel appreciated, valued and are acknowledged for their contributions. As a result, Employers of Choice employers are better able to both attract and retain great people.

The Employer of Choice website offers numerous tools and resources to assist employers as they prepare action plans and measure results.

About The Program

Both employees and managers are given a separate, easy to complete online questionnaire covering nine human resource criteria. Both rate the organization on its effectiveness in these areas. The results are then compiled and compared to identify areas of strength and areas that require improvement. Employers then use this information as they work to develop and beome an Employer of Choice!
