There are a number of reasons, but none more important than providing excellent and consistent service levels to every customer, every time!

OTEC is committed to promoting customer service for everyone and is proud to launch two new training programs this summer, “Accessible Service Excellence” and “Leading Accessible Service Excellence”. As a business owner, manager or HR specialist, every day you are challenged to find new and innovative recruitment and retention techniques to ensure you have the great people you need to run your business. Yet, despite your best efforts, you still find it difficult to find and keep the people you need. Well, look no further - now you can access information about a new source of experienced, dedicated employees through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program! As one of many H.R. solutions available to you OTEC will help guide you to the solutions best meeting your needs.

In partnership with the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC), OTEC has introduced a Temporary Foreign Worker Program to support Tourism and Hospitality Industry employers. The program is designed to provide you with information and tools to help you access experienced, high-caliber employees that can help mitigate immediate and future labour shortage concerns.

Many businesses in Ontario have begun to hire Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) as one of many recruitment strategies and report exceptional results. MORE

Beautiful beaches. Meandering coastal drives. Spectacular hiking, biking and camping. The only thing that could make the Georgian Bay region better is exceptional customer service — and service excellence is a key objective of a multi-phase project the Georgian Bay Scenic Coastal Route is delivering in partnership with OTEC.

The Georgian Bay region aims to reinforce its reputation as a destination for repeat visits and year-round tourism. The first phase of the project involves driving tours of the Georgian Bay coast that highlight local attractions. This initiative is designed to attract international travellers to the area as well as encourage domestic travel within it by capitalizing on abundant natural beauty, a wide variety of outdoor activities, and a rich marine heritage. Make smarter, more proactive HR decisions around jobs in the Canadian tourism sector by leveraging the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council’s (CTHRC) Annual Employer Survey. Provide your input, and then learn from the results - results that can help you manage staffing issues, minimize employee turnover and implement beneficial training programs that will ultimately boost your sales.

Created with busy schedules in mind, the survey takes only 12 to 15 minutes to complete, and all answers remain completely confidential. If you need to close the survey before you’ve completed it, no problem: Any responses provided will be saved, and clicking on the link later will allow you to continue where you left off. MORE
